Mark D. Sikes x Pottery Barn: The new collection that feels like summer

There’s something so refreshing about a crisp blue and white palette, just ask Nancy Meyers. So when I set my sights on the beloved filmmaker’s chosen designer Mark D. Sikes’ optimistic new line with Pottery Barn, peppered with zesty citrus and zen-inducing lilacs, I instantly felt like rom-com summer had arrived.
Both celebrated for their classic all-American sensibility, the partnership between Mark D. Sikes and Pottery Barn is a natural one, blending East Coast preppy polish and relaxed California charm. The result? An 85-piece collection built for summer decorating, warm-weather styling and true home-making.
‘This is a highly personal collection for me and I’m so proud to collaborate with Pottery Barn to design a collection that showcases my love of timeless, classic, and all-American design,’ says Mark. ‘It looks great today, and will still look great many years from now.’ But while the line is deeply personal, it’s certainly easy to style.
Whether you’re dressing up your outdoor dining room or freshening up your guest room, this new collection delivers exactly what I want from a summer home refresh: breezy, beautiful, and built to last.

As a celebrity interior designer, who has worked with Reese Witherspoon, on Nancy Meyers’ own home refresh, and was appointed by Jill Biden to redesign The White House no less, it is hardly surprising that the retailer tapped into Mark’s design prowess. But it turns out, the collaboration is somewhat of a homecoming for the designer.
Previously having worked for Pottery Barn in a creative role before branching out to start his own design firm, Mark D. Sikes’ career has skyrocketed since his days designing for the retailer.
With prices ranging from $14.99 to $499, this mammoth collection has a range of chic finds for the bedroom, bathroom, living room, and even the garden – but it is the designs for the tabletop that really caught my eye.

Drawing inspiration from his new home in Ojai, California, which is aptly named Orange Hill Farm, the collection has three distinct design stories: Citrus, Lilac, and Blue and White.
Think: dinnerware branded with oranges, lilac wallpaper with classic stripe reverses, and bold blue-and-white pillows you’ll want to scatter across every seat in the house and garden. Effortlessly capturing the spirit of a sun-drenched summer, Mark’s taken a fresh approach to traditional Americana that still feels at ease.
Styled up with rattan placemats and vintage-inspired bamboo flatware, the hand-painted serve ware is designed to be mixed and matched for an impossibly inviting tablescape.

With so many charming pieces to choose from, it’s hard to pick just a few – but these are the standout finds I’m reaching for to bring a little citrus-infused joy to my summer hosting setup. From the printed plates to the rattan touches, here are my favorites from the Mark D. Sikes x Pottery Barn collection that are sure to brighten up your summer.
Mark D. Sikes Valencia Vine Salad Plates
Inspired by the vibrant orange groves in Ojai, this citrus motif is featured throughout many different tabletop accessories, including this set of 4 stoneware plates, each finished with hand-painted glaze.
Mark D. Sikes Lilac Fields Reversible Comforter
Mark D. Sikes Footed Woven Tray
This hand-crafted rattan tray is a simple yet welcome accent piece for any styling novice. Whether you add it to your coffee table, kitchen counter, or use to serve up al fresco, choose from this rich, chocolate brown rattan or a natural white-washed wicker.
Mark D. Sikes Clementine Cachepots
Available in this lovely stripe or a hand-painted scallop print, these 100% stoneware cachepots are designed to elevate your patio or sunroom with vibrant plants like little citrus trees as Mark’s styled for the collection.
Mark D. Sikes Clementine Patchwork Tablecloth
Reminding me of traditional azulejo tiles, this patchwork style organic cotton tablecloth is vibrant in design yet remains calming thanks to the timeless palette. Perfect for hosting indoors or out.
Mark D. Sikes Pixie Scallop Sham
There are plenty of stylish pillows in this collection, but I particularly enjoy this sketched scallop design with the coordinating floral print on the reverse. Available in Standard, King, and Euro sizes for easy layering.
Mark D. Sikes Valencia Vine Napkins
Depicting a fruity and floral orange vine print, these 4 napkins are made using 100% organic cotton and are finished with a trim in the collection’s signature cobalt blue. I love the vibrancy these will bring to a place setting.
Mark D. Sikes Clementine Mugs
Perhaps the prettiest print in the blue-and-white design story is this Clementine floral that dances across these stoneware mugs. Hand-painted and finished with glazed decals, you can pick these up in a set of four.
Mark D. Sikes Valencia Vine Wallpaper
The wallpapers in this collection are far from subtle and truly pack a punch. This Valencia Vine is available in pre-pasted or a peel and stick for ease, and you can pick up the Wallpaper Sample before fully committing.
Mark D. Sikes has managed to bottle that laid-back California charm and timeless East Coast vibe in every piece, but if you’re looking for more inspiration for decorating with blue and white I recommend heading to our dedicated feature for this timeless color combination.
